Why no one hires Bruce Broughton anymore?

He is a great composer, but no one hires him anymore. Why?

Is he retired or no one understand about film music these days?

That's the saddest topic ever !
I'm listening to The Croods (Alan Silvestri) right now, and what a wonderful real film music ! Bruce Broughton should score animated features, there are so many out there. But I believe he prefers classic hand drawn animation...

So goes the fate of the film composer. Out with the old, in with the new. Same thing happened to the "golden age" composers during the 60's and 70's and those who did work were chopping away at lower budget films thanks to people like Paul Bartel, Brian DePalma, Jonathan Demme and Martin Scorsese.

It seems the Italian film industry has respect and appreciation for their old codgers whereas in America there's a belief that young means fresh new ideas and energy. I say it's all bullshit.
