I would love to see the score and songs released from such post-WW 2 animated classics as MAKE MINE MUSIC, FUN AND FANCY FREE, MELODY TIME and THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR.TOAD. Would getting rights to songs performed in these films by the likes of Nelson Eddy,Dinah Shore, The Andrews Sisters,Dennis Day, Andy Russell,Buddy Clark,The Sons of the Pioneers, etc. pose a licensing problem ?

Just stopped by to say how thrilled I am that there are more great Disney-Intrada releases in the pipeline. I know this is an obscure request, but the late great Bob Brunner composed some fantastic comedy scores for Disney in the late 60s/early 70s (I'm thinking specifically of the "Dexter Riley" films). I hope some of these are under consideration. Thanks!

There's another Tink movie scheduled for release in April with McNeely scoring I know the first album hasn't sold as well as expected and future volumes didn't look promising. Does that still seem that way or is there a chance of these other scores as well as the upcoming pirates one getting released? It's a shame, because they are EXCELLENT scores and McNeely is such an talented composer.

How do you know how well has this sold or have I missed something?

I think maybe Intrada should give the franchise one more shot. They released McNeely's first score quite a few years after the first Tinkerbell came out, and so many people who were Tinkerbell fans (more than McNeely fans like us) must've purchased the already existing soundtrack and been content with the McNeely suite provided.

Even though the second score in the series is my favorite, I think what would be wisest for Intrada to try is the latest score, The Pirate Fairy. That way it can tie in with the release of the film (just like their releases of stuff like The Avengers) -- I think it'll get a lot more attention that way. Also I think Disney stopped producing soundtrack albums for these films after #2, so there won't be competition from already existing albums, however little overlap there was.

Then maybe if an Intrada Pirate Fairy release is successful they might go back and release the three in the middle...

The other thing about The Pirate Fairy is that it's not being marketed exclusively to girls so much. There's no Tinkerbell logo over it, there's a bunch of human pirates instead of focusing on (mostly female) fairies, and Tom Hiddleston is voicing a young James Hook to boot! Maybe this will keep the fanbase of the previous films but add more boys. Plus we know film music fans love pirate scores.

Anyway, I hope Intrada will consider giving McNeely another shot.

Yavar
