Very nice. I see Quartet did not use my insane idea posed in my suggestion thread of throwing in Fielding's adaptation score for The Bad News Bears. They surely would have sold through their allocation two days faster if they had done that. ![]() |

Quartet's Gambler CD is 78 minutes long. There was no room for another score. |

I highly recommend the film as well. James Caan's talent was really allowed to shine. |

I have a copy on the way. Saw the film at the drive-in when it was released. |

This is my release of the year so far, a great cd, I find the overall tone - a pitiable sense of doom, which is inter-cut with sudden bursts of energy, to be stunningly well conveyed. I sought out the movie and absolutely loved it too, certainly deserving of more attention than it gets. Stoked to hear about another potential Fielding on the way with Beyond the Poseidon Adventure, my first was earlier this year with Escape from Alcatraz, but man, how quickly he is climbing up my favorites list. |

All of Intrada's Jerry Fielding releases have been top notch, and allows newcomers to really understand how versatile Fielding was when it came to filmscoring. I am really looking forward to any new treats that the gang from Intrada can give us. |

A very solid release. I used to be sorry that this score didn't get released at the same time as the film's release, but that's another story- at least now we have a great CD that represents the score (and not just the best parts). Thanks, Inrada. I really appreciate it. |

Brilliant News! This has to be one of the most under-rated films of all time - virtually unknown around the world (even to this day there's hardly anything about it on You tube) and you can't even buy it on DVD in the UK (you have to order it from the US; I saw it on British TV once maybe 10 years ago) I put the odds of an official soundtrack release as a billion to one (but then again I'm not a gambler). I have an extremely rare Jerry Fielding Music 3 CD somewhere which has the Mahler interpretation along with some other Peckinpah films. But a whole soundtrack? I bet there are some very happy soundtrack buffs out there. I found this site purely by accident. I was looking through rare soundtracks and noticed some others that haven't been released to this day - Watership Down (which I have on CD) - Excalibur (" ") - Cruising (including the suite by Jack Nitzsche) Anybody else wondering about these? |
