Post subject:  What are your top 12 favorite tracks from which score album?

First, I know this question sucks :? (try to do this and you'll know why) but looking at my user/listening habits, I have revisited certain tracks more often than others and some of them since many many years. The 12 tracks I have chosen are probably the most played in at least the last 12 months. But mostly I try to listen to the whole album. Anyway, certain tracks I play on a regular basis or as a "quality Check", do I still like it?, is it still as good as I remember? (they almost always pass the test;-).

These are my favorite (as of now) 12 tracks in random order (sorry but I had to limit this ;-) It is hard enough....

- "Main Title (Raw Take)" from STAR TREK TMP, Jerry Goldsmith, LLLR (I absolutely love this track and its "behind the scenes"-feeling)
- "Ski Chase" from ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, John Barry
- "Main Title" from WHERE EAGLES DARE, Ron Goodwin, FSM
- "The Map Room: Dawn" from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, John Williams
- "Main Title" from PREDATOR, Alan Silvestri, MAF
- "The Kitchen/The Orgy" from CONAN, MAF
- "The Organization" from THE ORGANIZATION, Gil Melle, ISC
- "Overture" from TWILIGHT ZONE THE MOVIE, Jerry Goldsmith, FSM
- "Nicaragua" from UNDER FIRE, Jerry Goldsmith, FSM
- "Joe Kidd (Main Title)" from JOE KIDD, Lalo Schifrin, ISC
- "Surprise Party/After the Ball" from THE OMEGA MAN, Ron Grainer, FSM
- "The Planet Krypton" from SUPERMAN THE MOVIE, John Williams, FSM

and it was not possible for me to name a certain track from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and HOOK (and some other Williams and John Barrys for that matter) because it would give me a sleepless night and I would probably change the choice first thing in the morning ;-)

PS: My kids (5/7/10) love the "Home Alone" themes and "Runaway" from "For Your Eyes Only" by Bill Conti

First of all it is obvious for me that there is no way I can come up with such a list and not want to change it every time I think of another great track. I doubt that I could even give you a list of my 12 favorite scores or composers for that matter. So with that said, all I can offer is a list of tracks I can't get enough of, A compilation of tracks that I might give to someone who is not a film score fan to listen to and see if they like it.

1. "Anastasia Waltz" from Anastasia by Alfred Newman
2. "Finale" from Valhalla by Ron Goodwin
3. "The Riddle is Solved" from Young Sherlock Holmes by Bruce Broughton
4. "N" from N (Io E Napoleone) by Paolo Buonvino
5. "Overture" from Ben-Hur by Miklos Rozsa
6. "Clark Street" from The Man With the Golden Arm by Elmer Bernstein
7. "Battle Montage" from Farewell to the King by Basil Poledouris
8. "Egyptian Bacchanal" from Antony and Cleopatra by John Scott
9. "Bert's Theme" from The Hustler by Kenyon Hopkins
10. "Roman March" from Masada by Jerry Goldsmith
11. "End Title" from Flowers in the Attic by Christopher Young
12. "Bacchanalia" from Lord of the Flies by Philippe Sarde

i can't reference a playcount because i stopped using a computer to play music a few years ago, and i clear out my ipod quite regularly, but i can give you twelve standout tracks that i often play separately from their scores.

the minefield pt 1 - rosenman // hell is for heroes
scytheoplicity - goldenthal // in dreams
main title/end credits film edit - scott // north dallas forty
song for bob - cave, ellis // the assassination of jesse james
the landing - goldsmith // alien
gluttony - shore // seven
column of sadness/wheel of pain - poledouris // conan the barbarian
the method works - tykwer, klimek, heil // perfume
prologue - tangerine dream // legend
the harpies - herrmann // jason and the argonauts
bus station - horner // red heat
snowmobiles - kamen // die hard 2

not sure what that represents altogether, as some of my favorite albums and composers aren't mentioned, but these are just some really good tracks.

Hangin' Paper - Quincy Jones (In Cold Blood)

Pretty Girls - Henry Mancini (Visions Of Eight)

Spaced Out - Henry Mancini (Visions Of Eight)

Blues For Bertha - Neal Hefti (Boeing Boeing)

Riddle Me This - Kenyon Hopkins (Lilith)

The other seven I'm thinking about...
