Goldsmith's big band writing for IN HARM'S WAY was pretty awesome, even better than almost any other pop writing he did.

Maybe it's because he grew up with swing music? When he was 17, the war was on and people like Harry James, Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw were knocking them dead.

Anyway, did Goldsmith write any other original swing or big band music?

Big band music is great! I like a lot of those guys, Woody Herman, Les Brown and especially Quincy Jones big band stuff from the 60's. As for Goldsmith, I don't know. Good question.
