What scores would you most like to see a label like Tadlow give a re-recording make over because of the poor sound quality of the original release? I would love to see"The Vikings" Mario Nascimbene and "Genghis Khan" Dusan Radic get the Tadlow "El Cid" complete re-recording treatment. |

Genghis Khan sounded actually quite good to me... but I would highly welcome Land of the Pharaohs, The Miracle (since nobody seems to care enough to release the tapes that are stored at Warners) and Lost Horizon. |

Red Sonja by Ennio Morricone seems like a very good candidate for a full re-recording. Given that the tapes are supposedly completely lost (no release is much worse than a poor sounding release), Jerry Goldsmith's The Salamander is another worthwhile project in my mind. It would probably be very tough to recreate with complete accuracy, though. And that is assuming the written score is actually available. |

John Williams's 1979 DRACULA sounds dreadful on Varèse CD. A fantasy re-recording would be for Johnny himself to go back to the LSO and do it up right. |

Now all you have to do to get these scores re-recorded is write the check and have it clear the bank.. Anyone want to do that? Ford A. Thaxton |

I don't know if this thread was meant for "bad sound quality" or "needs to be re-recorded" but my vote for a score that needs to be remastered and re-released is Jaws. Such a terrific (and of course, AA winning!) score which Decca (whom I am grateful released it) didn't quite measure up to. Now, in the age of all the fine soundtrack companies, I think the time is due for a remaster. Just me. |

The thing about Battle Beyond The Stars is if not for the brass the performance would be fine. The strings are lovely. |
