I buy only what I know or think I will enjoy. It does not matter who the composer is. It is easier for me to list some of my favorite titles rather than composers. They all have good and bad scores. I like Conti, but will not buy the new release because I did not particularly enjoy the music. Same for Newman. Sky Bandits and Young's CD I bought, simply because I liked what I heard.

I too am bothered by those individuals who snap up titles in bunches without any regard for their personal enjoyment. But you know what, so many of the previous Varese club releases remain unsold on Ebay. If the market dictates the prices as it does with other goods and services, it would suggest that the prices be lowered to where they will sell. I have not seen any change in these prices, suggesting to me that the sellers are content to sit on them and thus keep them out of circulation, which is a shame. If they happen to sell one or two, someone has money to burn which in no way should indicate that is what the market price should be.

Both Ghostbusters and Making the Grade have reappeared at Screen Archives, at very reasonable prices. As long as certain outlets can still offer these items at these fairly low prices, the ebay gougers will have to be content to sit on theirs.

I have absolutely no idea what the market on eBay is like, but with the soundtrack collectors market so small (really only a few thousand people worldwide) does it really make financial sense to put thousands into buying up extra cds and then having to wait to resell them? Seems to me the stock market would give a better return on your investment for all its ups and downs. Do that many people out there really want to pay top dollar for THE BRIDE? I dunno...

When I woke up this morning I went to Varese's site to check the club releases. I listened to the soundclips for Sky Bandits and An Unfinished Life and liked them enough to order them right away. It's a good thing I went ahead and got The Ballad Of Cable Hogue because its gone.

We have had this discussion about e-bay before. Don't buy them. The system is all based on supply and demand and there thinking (some of them) is "there is a sucker born every minute." And Craig is in the position that you can only sell it once.
