Recently I bought the (almost) complete works boxsets of Vladimir Cosma, a famous french film composer that has worked on movies for more than 40 years. Going through all of his incredible career, I discovered some truly remarkable jewels. I couldn't help noticing the influence of Taras Bulba (Franz Waxman) on his georgous score for "Rabbi Jacob" (1973). Enjoy ! |

Well, there is enough material left to fill box nr. 3. Sadly there never was one. Anyway, these two are great collections... |

What important scores are missing in your opinion ? It seems that all of his scores for Jean Pierre Mocky's movies ar missing from these boxsets. But I'm just glad, my fave ones are included, like the animation Asterix scores and the animated series Rahan. |

Well, SOLEIL tops my list. Asterix scores? I think he did more of them then just those two included in the last box... but I would have to check more carefully to compile longer list. |

Was Michael Strogoff ever released in the box sets? |

Yes, I was listening to it this morning. Amazing score, containing a very rare instrument : the musical saw. It's in the boxset vol 1 CD 8 (70 min long). |
