I've ordered this treasure as well. It's unusual for Varèse to present both the original album and the unreleased/alternate tracks as bonus tracks (I remember Intrada happened to do this occasionnaly), but if it works... why not ?

But 1500 copies for such a major 80's title with Deluxe treatment ? Are they crazy ??

This was great news this morning. All the extra goodies... WOW! Missed out on the original release, so this is fantastic news. I must say, with all the Maurice Jarre love the past couple of months... AWESOME. Wonder if expansions of the Lean/Jarre films are next?

Needless to say... oh so ordered.

I hope THE BRIDE is next. Gorgeous score.

Received my copy of Varese's Enemy Mine (The Deluxe Edition) in the mail today and have really been enjoying the extra tracks of music and improved sound quality. It truly is a great score. And while the lost music is disheartening, I am very thankful to have this. A pure gem, through and through.

I hope others who have received it are enjoying it as well. I'd still like to take a crack at combining some of the original album tracks with the newly released tracks for a more chronological order, but given the original album is more of a continuous long playing suite, it's a lot more difficult than I realized to make that happen.

Oh, and I'd like to give a shout out to Mike Matessino, who was kind enough to speak to me earlier on the Enemy Mine Blu-ray thread. Mike, if you're still following along here, I got a real kick seeing your name mentioned by Julie Kirgo in the liner notes of this release (referring to you as the "restoration specialist"). You did a great job here as well as on the Blu-ray. What other movie scores have you worked on like this that you're most proud of? Looking forward to "Christine" soon. Maybe it will also receive the deluxe treatment on CD, like "Enemy Mine", when you're finished working on the Blu-ray?
