After fantastic Body Heat Lukas & Co. release another Barry's masterpiece - Deluxe edition of King Kong!
What a great 2 months for Barry fans!

Wonderful release. Been dreaming about having the complete score for this since I was a kid. Along with Body Heat, FSM certainly made a lot of John Barry fans happy, that's for sure.

It's impressive how much better this sounds when compared to the album source used for the prior disc. This new release sounds immaculate throughout with much better clarity.

I was at first going to stick with the original release, but I'm glad I didn't just for the sound quality alone. This edition definitely gives me extra appreciation for Barry's score.

Waited a long time for this. Glad to have a copy. I had one of the prior releases, a gift from a friend in England who knew I liked the film. I later learned it was apparently one of the bootlegs. Oh well. In any event, I disliked how that version left out pretty much the entire middle part of Barry's score. The search party in the jungle, them making camp, Carnahan firing the flare, the sailors getting rolled off of the log, etc. Even Kong's fight with the python if memory serves (I can't check, and I've long since misplaced that disc). Having these missing tracks finally is great.

As regards the original release, interesting that the waterfall scene's music was titled "Arthusa," an alternate spelling of Arethusa. In Greek mythology, Arethusa was a nymph whose name meant "waterer."
