Fierce Creatures should be complete; the entire score is barely 20 minutes. According to Robert Townson, Jerry Goldsmith recorded additional music to fill up the album to 30 minutes. So I'd assume it's pretty much complete.

By the way, nicely done list. :-)

Wow -- that's an awesome table. Perhaps coincidentally, I just a few days ago made this very similar post at the FSM forum, "What Goldsmith scores are left to expand?":

http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts ... &archive=0

I like your organization much better though. I was just going in reverse chronological order, just through the things I thought didn't have "definitive" releases. Since the emphasis of my list was a little different, it does have some additional info compared to yours about who might be likely to put out a definitive release based on label and studio relationships...which you probably don't have room to fit in. Hence my linking to it above for those interested parties.

I'm going to go to the FSM board now and link my thread to this one because I love your table so much!

We have a post like that, as I recall, at JerryGoldsmithOnline -- which even more obscure stuff, culled from BMI and ASCAP listings.

To update your list based on my knowledge and some knowledge shared on the FSM forum for the thread I started:

Pretty sure Studs Lonigan is complete, thanks to Doug Fake himself saving the tapes (just as for City of Fear, which you did mark as complete)

Satan Bug is complete but with sound effects.

I'd change The Agony and the Ecstasy to "The Artist Who DId Not Want to Paint", the name of the short film Goldsmith scored preceding the feature scored by Alex North.

Stagecoach is now complete on LaLaLand, except that it omitted the LP re-recording (which has obviously been previously released).

Seconds is complete (with some minimal bleed-through)... it's just a short score.

As others have noted the film recording of Hour of the Gun is completely unreleased because it is lost and the album was a rerecording.

Rio Lobo is definitely complete, and I thought FSM's release of Ace Eli was...

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure the Universal France issue of Papillion, while expanded, is *incomplete* (not a rare occurrence for them). Would love to see one of our specialty labels tackle this.

Ransom is definitely incomplete, being merely a transfer from the LP itself (apparently all that could be found)

On the FSM board it was confirmed that Caboblanco, Breakout and (I think) Contract on Cherry Street are complete, and I'm pretty positive that Breakheart Pass is as well.

Also someone pointed out that Twilight's Last Gleaming was missing at least a little bit of music, and to me it *feels* like High Velocity, a favorite of mine, is incomplete but I've never watched the film to check.

I thought it was commonly accepted that The Final Conflict, like the original Omen, was still missing a little music on the Deluxe Edition...I'm not sure about Omen II though. In fact I think it goes for all Varese Deluxe Editions that you can't just assume they are actually complete rather than expanded -- just look at The Great Train Robbery!

Rambo: First Blood Part II is missing some stuff, at the very least the orchestral end credits which were recorded according to our own Doug Fake...I hope he brings it to the Intrada family in a new edition to match the first and third scores already on Intrada. Another point is that the Silva had poorer sound quality on the added cues. Hopefully Intrada can find original elements as they did for 1 and 3.

Bad Girls should be complete as of the LaLaLand issue, just like The Edge. (BTW, interesting to see now that The Edge is to date the most recent Goldsmith score given definitive treatment.)

Also, I think a number of things on the Varese Fox Box were in fact complete (or at least complete surviving scores) -- ie. The Detective, Von Ryan's Express, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, maybe Shock Treatment...) I'm not absolutely positive though.

There is NO WAY Varese's FREUD is anywhere near complete. There is ton of music in the film not included on the album.
It may be what's left, perhaps.

Great list.
Poltergeist II is another expanded edition that is not complete.

What a great resource, thanks Conrad!

1979 was certainly a great year for Jerry - at least, my favorite year of his anyway!

Yes... 78 and 79 are terrific years (and so many scores composed... jeez -not complaining)... and the 80's were just amazing. Due to this huge output of fantastic scores, there really is no wonder why he is my favorite composer of all time.

Has anyone mention his earliest work in radio when he was sharpening his chops?

Brilliant work. What is the story with Legend. How much do you think is missing?

Cheers
