Stagecoach is one of my favorite western scores. I have both the FSM and Mainstream Records releases, so it will be interesting to see what the LLL release offers in terms of sound quality and new content. The cover art is certainly gorgeous. |

I love the Rio Lobo cover, it's a really evocative still from the movie, and made for a great original poster. I know some old-timers were getting cranky about it over on the FSM forum, but those guys have to moan about something. I'll be getting this one. |

I missed the Prometheus release of Rio Lobo. Buying this is a no brainer. I saw Stagecoach when it was released theatrically. I have the FSM release, but will buy this release as well. Thanks for a bit of behind the scenes stuff Ford. Gary |

The samples for LLL's release of Stagecoach sounds much clearer and more vibrant than the FSM release. I am definitely impressed. |

I blame Joe Sikoryak for setting the bar so high and then refusing to clone himself. ![]() |

Attention all you pissy entitled babies whining about cover art: I have a REAL question..... Does anyone know how the VERY cool title sequence of "Rio Lobo" actually happened? There aren't many title sequences to match that one for sheer style that I can think of, certainly not in the late '60s/early '70s when even Hitchcock had apparently cooled off on that sort of thing. Was the idea inspired when Jerry Goldsmith auditioned his thematic material? Was there always going to be a title sequence of some sort and Goldsmith was asked to provide a solo guitar piece to drive it? The liner notes in the new CD mention Don Record designing the sequence, but I wonder who came up with the idea that there should be one in the first place? I can't think of anything in Howard Hawks' body of work to match it in coolness, so I can't imagine he came up with it - although I could be wrong....? |

Wow, I mention how much I liked the Stagecoach cover art and that eventually led to unnecessary hostility. You'll never see me complain about artwork since its the musical presentation that matters most to me by far, but I sometimes like to point out the artwork that really catches my eye. It was certainly not my intention to bring the poison found in other forums over here. |
