I haven't seen the film in a long time, but it isn't surprising if the same cue is used for more than one scene. Since this release is all-inclusive, it is natural to provide any repeat cues. As for the labeling, it isn't that uncommon for there to be print mistakes. Human error is inevitable. I only copied the non-extras from my rip to the hard drive on the computer I'm at, so I currently do not have the opportunity to closely hear the two cues in question. Great release by the way. Newman's intricate layering comes through perfectly. |

thx four your responses! To me it's obvious that having the exact same track twice in a row here is some sort of mistake. I'm just not sure whether it's a general mistake on all of the discs, since i couldn't find anyone mentioning it. But regarding your replies: It has to be a mistake, because even if the cue was used several times in the movie, it wouldn't make sense placing two tracks with exactly the same audio data in direct succession. According to the cue assembly in the booklet, track 22 is supposed to be combined from two individual cues while track 23 should be an alternate mix of another cue - so if you have twice the same track here, one is actually missing. |

I listened to the tracks and they do indeed sound exactly the same. What's interesting is that they have a very slight difference in duration, so the duplication wasn't a simple copy of the file on a computer. |

This score is not to be missed. Got this with Michael Small's Postman Always Rings Twice. A great double-bill. Those who fell in love with Thomas Newman's music... you will not be disappointed. Those who have nothing by this gifted composer... pick it up. Typically awesome job from Intrada. |

I always prefer the labels to include everything reasonably possible and configure it all as neatly as one can, as was done here. More and more people listen to their music as files, so creating their own programs is not a cumbersome task. With this particular release, I did not include the extras as part of my listening arrangement. But, I'm sure there are some who really appreciate the inclusion. I don't think the extra tracks weaken this release at all. Consumers understand that the music was created for film, and that film music albums can sometimes provide what can be considered somewhat awkward situations. |
