Given my pungent for synthy soundtracks...I was wondering what peoples views were on this score.

Personally, it's one of my favourites. I think it's because it goes back to my childhood. I was about 8 years old when I first saw it in the cinema. I loved the music...and all the effects (like reversed string sounds courtesy of the Synclavier/Fairlight). It was pretty cutting edge back in the mid 80's and left a big impression on me. I know Bowie starred in a few films...but I also think he had songwriting ability when it came to motion pictures. It's a shame he didn't put out more work

I've always loved this score, and badly want an expansion. Sadly, I fear the integral nature of the Bowie songs would make any expanded release incredibly tricky. It seems very unlikely to come to pass.

Interestingly, Jones' manuscript sold at auction at the "live" Muppet Show event several years back ... and not for terribly much, either. Wish I'd been there to bid!

I know it may be tricky but at the same time I doubt Bowie would be against an expanded and remastered soundtrack release. His classic albums go thru remasters and re-issues over the years. I would think his management etc would be open to it.

I could see a 2 Disc set being released the original LP version with the complete film version also.

Bowie did an interview once (some obscure 80's TV channel) were he was asked about the music. He said there was enough to cover the entire length of the film. So im figuring there must be atleast 2 CD's worth. I wish it could happen...
