That's a pretty stupid law. On the note of trading an original for a CD-R copy, why would one really care what the packaging looks like? It's the music that you wanted, right? Just keep the trade simple and your expectations will likely be rewarded. ~ Oz[/quote] I bought a copy of the Japanese RCA In Harm's Way lp released in the 80's on eBay several years ago as I no longer had my original. The primary reason was that the seller also provided a CD-R of said album with the purchase- bought it for maybe, $9.00. So I guess the seller was not in violation of the law, but I would be if I sold the lp and kept the CD-R? Not that it matters, I finally got it on cd anyway... [/quote] In essence - Yes. That's according to the old Bata-Max law, but I'm not even trying to come off as understanding any of this. It gets one to wonder, though, just how many people have been busted for being in possesion of coppied materials and not having an original to keep it all nice and legal.
