New to the forum/Barry and "Stacey."

(Season's) Greetings!
Thanks to Roger I have arrived! I wanted to let my first post be what is on my mind at the moment, score-wise. I am sure this has been discussed before but John Barry'smusic in A View to Kill, aside from being simply superb, has got to be one of the most emotional bond scores I have ever been tied to! Particularly, the music, and it's arrangement for Stacey (Tanya Roberts) just jerk my chest into being heavy and my eyes to welding! Just wanted to throw this praise out there. I have recently settled (back) into this score and the cues for Bond and Stacey have the greatest replay value right now. It's really unlike a lot of what other composers were doing at the time (1985). Just can't get enough!

I love the score to A VIEW TO A KILL, as well. The quality of Barry's work stayed consistent through out the Bond series, while the quality of the films didn't. A VIEW TO A KILL is a perfect example of that.

My favorite James Bond score is YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. Musically, Barry brilliantly describes the beauty of Japan. Lots of great action cues and romantic themes, as well.

I will definitely check it out. I saw the film years ago but sadly don't remember much about it, least of all Barry's music.

Just wanted to chime in and say what a great community we have here. So nice to see a new member welcomed so warmly by the head of my favorite label.

A VIEW TO A KILL was my very first soundtrack, purchased on cassette tape when I was a wee lad. I agree, the Stacey cues are haunting and lovely. I think you should see an ophthalmologist, however, about what they're doing to your eyes, TruPretender. :wink:

Thank you Doug for the welcome! In this winter, that's some of the warmest I've felt! May I also thank you for the wonderful label that IS Intrada! I love it, the music it produces, and what other listeners have to say. It's great to be among other score-fanatics!

Barry's score for A View to a Kill works on every level. What I like most about it is the smooth integration of the main theme for On Her Majesty's Secret Service in various action cues. Great stuff.

Great taste in Bond music BTW.

A VIEW TO A KILL is one of my favorite Barry/Bond scores. From the marvelous Duran Duran/John Barry main title... to the spectacular action music... and finally, to the gorgeous theme for Stacey.

One of the best moments for Stacey's(Tanya Roberts... still hot today) theme is at the end when she is running down the hill toward James before she is taken by Christopher Walken in the blimp. Absolutely stunning music.

Ms. Roberts always seemed to get some beautiful music for her. Most notably in BEASTMASTER, A VIEW TO A KILL and SHEENA.
The films... not so hot, but all entertaining in their own campy/good natured way.

Anyhow... Welcome... And, let's look forward to some more John Barry's being released. **Thank you Intrada once again for THE BLACK HOLE... MARVELOUS!
