I know most will know but its an epic release and worth its own thread i though. I missed out on the VS release and did'nt fancy the silly ebay prices this new release from LLL seems to blow it out of the water though.

I can't wait to get it. So much was thrown into this release, and it looks like a lot of effort went into its production. Never did I expect Run-D.M.C.'s "Christmas in Hollis" to be included, and I suppose this track's length is extended due to the bonus inclusion of "Roy Rogers Meets Beethoven's Ninth."

Anyway, this is another great moment for 80s action film scores.

Watched the blu-ray of this again the other night and the film still holds up so well. One of the best films of the 80s and blows most modern action movies out of the water. Love Kamens music for the helicopter attack the way its builds.
I always thought the limo driver looks like a young Usher and i love the RUN D.M.C song i downloaded it after seeing hearing it so many times.

Strange they could'nt license "Resolution and Hyperspace" from Aliens since thats a fox movie unless they wanted. too much money for it or it was'nt part of the original agreement

I did find it odd how it was cost-effective and possible to license the songs that are included, but not the James Horner cue. But, I'll never understand many facets of this industry.

I have to add that it was really nice of La-La Land to do the $9.98 holiday discount prices for some of their other releases. I hope those sell well and allow them to clear lots of inventory.

Probably since Varese has that score and likely has the rights in perpetuity and won't share. Even one cue.

That did cross my mind as the most likely scenario, as annoying as it seems.

If that's the case, I wonder if Varese no longer has the rights to Man on Fire (1987) since John Scott's cue is included on this Die Hard album. EDIT: Never mind. I see that this cue was granted via New Enterprises Music, Inc. through BMI.

I was just over at the FSM board, and MV says that they are down to about 150 copies of this score. Just a heads up.

Grabbed this, and TORA! TORA! TORA!, the second they appeared on Intrada!

Now that LLL is the only label to release big titles with a given quantity limitation, we'll see more of their CDs on ebay... ^^

I got in early and ordered it from here along with Wolfen. Shows how much love there is for this score. Such a Shame Mr.Kamen is longer around to see his score get the attention and presentation it has desevered since day one.

2011 has been a fantastic year full of surprises (cracking the Disney vaults) and less surprising but very necessary releases (obviously Explorers & Gremlins) ! I hope more Disney titles are coming !
