Both of these scores have now been given full releases, but I still value this recording as I think the performance and sound quality are first-rate. When I made a North and South compilation for my iPod, I used the track titles from the concert suite, which I found more poetic than the regular cue titles. |

Yes, a fine re-recording - I love this CD! I also have the original scores, but it is still great to have this as well... ![]() |

I also love this... brilliantly performed by the LSO. Ranks as one of my most played titles ever. The North and South theme is gorgeous. |

I was playing this great CD today on my Bose Wave System and I noticed some slight "popping" during a couple of the NORTH & SOUTH tracks, such as the beginning of TRACK SEVEN - anybody else? Anyway, it has been a while since I've played it and it just could be the Bose system picking up some noise on an old CD. Other CDs play fine and sound great on the Bose. Oh, well - perhaps it's time to replace the CD?... ![]() |
