Dino had originally wanted Morricone to score the first film, but I assume that never even came to a signing point.

I thought maybe being in the vault, and getting notes for the CD ready, you might be able to clarify if he did or did not do anything.

I must say that I've never seen Intrada staff so excited and enthusiastic about an upcoming project like this; specialy a project where the production is yet to be finalized. But I guess that the sudden discovery of high quality pristine and detailed multi track sources of Conan have made it possible to break this tradition. As evident by the plethora of responses here and at other forums, heres hoping that fans will be able to contain their fever pitched excitement and not bug the Intrada production team when they go and prepare this release for us. So we are thankfull to Roger & Doug to spill the beans and we are ready to champion this release when it begins to ship.

Most significant question to me is, will be the "Tower of Set" recording on that forthcoming Intrada CD ??
And i mean the filmversion, which is the original recording from Clemencic Consort with an added female choir.

What about the licensing issues about that cue. because it was originally released on Harmonia Mundi Label in 1976 ?

I hate rehearsal stuff, especially with all the extraneous talking.

I'm curious as to if the original album arrangement, of Barbarian, featured alternate versions of the cues ultimately used in the film?
If that being the case, would the eventual Intrada production include a recreation of that album arrangement?

I remember when I got these two scores, it was shortly after I got ROBOCOP on cassette. It wasn't because I was looking for more of Poledouris' music, but because I had just seen DESTROYER and was looking for the ceremony music. I went through the Tower Records cassette isle and there they were $6.99 for DESTROYER and $4.99 for BARBARIAN. When I recognized the composer's name I bought them instantly. The cue I was looking for ended up not being on DESTROYER, but on BARBARIAN... that being, of course, the cue entitled The Orgy.

So, it will be fantastic having both versions, and perhaps alternates, of The Orgy, finally on my top shelf.
