STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE - The very famous saxophone solo, which I think is on the "Stan And Stella" cut on the Varese re-recording , is buried behind a trumpet (cornet?) doubling it. I'm used to the Angel re-recording (Heindorf conducting, I think) so I found this version VERY disappointing!

The reason given on the liner notes for this was insufficient as I recall.

Does anyone remember if it was doubled this way in the film?

Or does anyone know the REAL reason it was recorded this way?
