The Case — Original music from the film by Charles Kaznyk (3:28) Surprised no pub on this board for this one - being pretty hotly debated at FSM, mostly haters - Me, I loved it, was entertained by the film, LOVED the score, thought MG hit it out of the park here, moreso than STAR TREK, and one of the few scores in years that made me want to 'run to the record store' for copy. I think the last time that happened was.... ROAR? (Cloverfield). Looks like Varese got all of it on the record here, even the short 'neighborhood' cues I swore wouldn't make the cut! Woo hoo! |

Yea I'm hyped for this one as well. I'm not a big fan of modern film soundtracks but this is an exception and easily my favorite new score of 2011. The long wait is finally almost over and it's been well worth it after seeing that track list! |

August 2nd?! Wow. I saw this film a month ago and there's still another month's wait for the score release (/about the time the movie'll be hitting DVD stores/). Oh well, I liked Giacchino's score in the film and look forward to hearing the generous presentation of cues (including one "Not contained in film") when it finally arrives sometime in August. |

Unsurprisingly, the album is already available on iTunes. While I do want the actual CD, the temptation to download the album is really hard to resist! The same thing happened with Brian Tyler's score to BATTLE; LA, which I enjoyed much more than the film itself. Cheers! Harry |
