On the 4 CD box set of Le Cinema de Maurice Jarre, it contains 9 minutes of the rejected score to The River Wild. It is fantastic music from Jarre that deserves a full CD release. It's big, thematic, it's Jarre. Music such as this, even though rejected, deserves to be heard. I know Intrada are Jarre fans so this would make a great limited edition CD, that I'm sure would sell out and would be hailed as one of the great CD releases of 2011. I hope you will consider releasing this one hopefully soon if possible. If there isn't too much red tape. |

Roger, That's hopeful news. I hope it happens. Also, Jarre's Jennifer 8 Main tiles on the 4 CD box set sound very interesting too. I wonder if the producers of the box set found more of the original tracks to El Condor. That one would be great also. Always hoping for more Jarre. |

I would welcome more Jarre as well. I've not heard the samples from The River Wild but the outdoor adventure genre is always fertile ground for the composer. |

I got a feeling Intrada won't be the only label vying for this. |

would be great a double CD with the original complete score of Jerry Goldsmith that I really like a lot and with the complete rejected score of Jarre my favorite composer |

Speaking of rejected scores. How about a release of Goldsmith's rejected score to The Public Eye could this be one we'll see too? ![]() |

Speaking about unused/rejected scores, what about Bernstein“s A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT? did he complete it? There is also TEXAS RANGERS and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES but someone would have to record those two first ![]() |

I'd put them about even, myself. But that's probably one of the best things I've heard from Beltrami, who I usually don't care for. |

Let me clear up some things before I possibly go: As I was told, all of "A River Runs Through It" was recorded. I have heard nothing about missing tapes for it. A little of "Texas Rangers" was recorded, apart from the demo score (see my site for more details) The only rejected Bernstein score I know of that wasn't fully recorded, I have not disocvered the name of yet. It was appearently one of the last few scores he did. I speculate possibly "Casino", for which he was going to score. No score was used in the film. See my site for this and other scores: RejectedFilmScores.150m.com/list.html Including the correct info on "Waterworld". |
