Thankfully so, too. I'm ecstatic that Lukas kept the music coming, and didn't fall victim to the comic book, collecting mentality, and whether that was solely business-driven, I wish all labels pressed whatever the demand called for, as FSM did. At last, let's forget this speculation and collectible game and find the music again. Lukas' blog post: http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts ... &archive=0 |

According to Lukas: These are the CDs (post-2001) that we have grossly overproduced: Logan's Run (6500 pressed) Man From U.N.C.L.E. Vol 1 (6000 pressed) Ice Station Zebra (3500 pressed) Knights of the Round Table (3500 pressed) Man From U.N.C.L.E. Vol 2 (5000 pressed) Where Eagles Dare (6500 pressed) Big Wednesday (I think 4000 pressed...we need to do an inventory count to be sure) Man From U.N.C.L.E. Vol 3 (4000 pressed) Mutiny on the Bounty (4500 pressed) Kelly's Heroes (7500 pressed! who'da thunk?) The Thing From Another World (4000 pressed) CHiPs Vol 1 (3500) Twilight Zone The Movie (5000) Bullitt (4000) we made a ton of these too but I don't think we called them limited in the first place (no AFM issues): Born Free (5000) King Kong (5000) Goodbye Mr. Chips (4000) |

Let's try to exchange our ideas and express our thoughts in a civil manner. I think this was a great thing to announce; it's something important in moving forward in this market, so let's remain as adults here. |

Well good for them! I'm sure those extra copies helped pay for the titles that had bugger all sales. |

I applaud Lukas Kendall for this. In the end, it really should be about the music and not some limited numbers / speculation guessing game. Bravo! |

Excellent. ![]() Sometimes it can be a bit of a pain to have to scramble to grab a copy of a low numbers release - especially if you're strapped for cash that week!. That explains now why it was so easy for me to get a copy of Where Eagles Dare, that many years after its release, as there was only, allegedly, 3000 copies - I always thought that it was strange how with those numbers, it had never sold out?. I don't give a damn how many of something is pressed, as long as I can get a copy of what I want, then I'm happy. I bought the: Grease and Saturday Night Fever Soundtracks the other week - and there's been tens-of-millions of copies of those Soundtracks pressed, over the years!!!!!!!!. |

They sold Remo Williams for 20 bucks, the original price. I think it's a good thing you're not buying anymore, you need to lay off the cd's and get some perspective! |

I think there are lots of un-released scores to smaller (unknown movie to some folks) that still have to see the light of day. I always thought that the more obscure movie scores were what these labels did BEST, with a few blockbuster movies thrown in for good measure. Keep 'em coming guys. As for the "limited edition" thing. I don't think anything horrible has been done. I say GREAT job to Lukas and Co. |

So out of 200 releases there are only 14 that they went crazy on. And those were 3000 to begin with, so no big deal to me. |

It does make me wonder whether those who make a fuss about the numbers of limited editions pressed?, are actually *SCALPERS*, who bought a whole pile of those releases - that they then wanted to flog at $100 a copy!!!!!!!, and are pissed-off, that those releases STILL haven't sold out ![]() |

I have never bought more than 2 copies of certain titles. I bought 2 to give (no money was exchanged) one to a friend that I knew would enjoy the score and they thanked me. |
