I also like this composer's work a lot. There are still several of his scores I'm aware of that are yet waiting to be released, so as you say, let's hope. One thing that I find interesting: There are four Jerry Fielding scores released by FSM, and with the exception of "The Getaway", which has no companion on the CD, all the other three are always 'secondary', overshadowed by another composer's score - be it Oliver Nelson's Zig Zag over JF's The Super Cops, Fred Myrow's Soylent Green over JF's Demon Seed or Johnny Mandel's Point Blank over JF's The Outfit. Any ideas why ? At least in my perception of the film score market, JF is a more known and attracting name than that of any of the three other composers. |
