Before Les Baxter there was Leslie Baxter. This is a EP from around 1953.

One of many Les Baxter LPs on Capital Records. The guy must have been a big draw with Hi Fi enthuthiasts back in the 1950's. I've managed to snag copies of nearly all his LPs by scrounging through piles of junk store vinyl over the years. This one I bought in Tampa Florida a few years ago.

The cover has recently been descibed as "politically incorrect" by some online reviewers. I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. WTF does "politically incorrect" mean anyway?

One of my favorite Les Baxter LPs. The last five tracks are original compositions, I've been unable to pinpoint what film or films they were composed for. Has a nice early 70's groove.

I've always liked the cover of the Japanese pressing of The Day Of The Dolphin.

Fun task for the obsessed; How many mistakes are on the cover?

Alfred Newman, Elmer Bernstein, Dominic Frontiere, George Duning and others compose especially for this Les Brown recording dating from the late 1950's.

I always preferred this LP version of GORKY PARK over the Varese CD release.

A favorite CD cover of mine. The film was given poor treatment in the USA with bad dubbing making it appear to be a film directed at an audience of three year olds. A magical Nicola Piovani score with a main theme that registers in my brain like a fond memory every time I think of it. Found the Italian pressing at a used music store in Tampa Florida a few years ago for $1.00 US currency. Happy day in the sunshine state.

This is a scan of my personal copy of the world premier recording for In Like Flint. It's strange because the only other image I've been able to locate online (Japanese Goldsmith website) has nearly identical water damage on the cover as if both recordings were back to back during some unfortunate flooding back in the day. Makes me wonder if perhaps the others were simply thrown away. The actual cover looks much better than it does in this poor quality scan. Camera seems to have a problem with bold red color.

I answered an ad in the Los Angeles times back in the 80's and bought this from some crazy woman in Santa Monica for $5.00 US currency...

The radio promotion campaign for "Walt Disney's Robin Hood" packed with all sorts of goodies from the animated film, songs, radio spots, booklet with cast and crew info. I believe it's a pretty scarce recording. LP in mint condition. Found it in some pile of recordings somewhere while out and about awhile back. The original shrink wrap was still intact (except in upper left corner) preserving the cover...

As far as I know I'm the only person on the planet who owns this particular pressing of the Angelo Lavagnino score for The Naked Maja, a 1959 Japanese LP. The cover must have been considered too risque for American marketing as the American United Artist LP has entirely different cover art. Hard to believe but something like this must have been considered pornography back in the good old days.
