Today is Elmer Bernstein`s birthday, he would have been 84 years old today 
But what Bernstein score would you play today to honor his memory? I guess many will choose Ghostbusters btw If he had been alive which of those new films do you think he could have been hired to score? and don`t answer every film I could imagine The New World or even Ice Age 2 as scores by Elmer |

It's really nothing more than a pure coincidence that we're talking here on "Intrada territory" as the score I felt like playing today for Elmer was THE STORY ON PAGE ONE and it's really a great one, perhaps often overlooked. The CD also features a cool organ version of Temptation. Excellent choice when there's no more than 30 minutes of listening time left ! I love the composer's early drama works like this or Baby the Rain Must Fall. That's "my" Elmer ! |

I'm now at track 19 of Hawaii (disc one). What a gorgeous score! (Great sound too.) Extremely rich and bright and sunny and cheerful (albeit with a few quieter and even darker moments, like track 20) and wonderful! |
