Found a nice disc from the Netherlands of a really exceptional score by Eric Kaada from the film O'Horten released on the composers own label for $2.00. The Milan US release of this score has an altered cover design, this copy has an oblong mini LP jacket. At first I thought it was a small book and not a CD.

Also... BlueBob box set released in a limited edition and sold exclusively on David Lynch's website. ($5.00 at a junk store).

Next was a real surprise, an LP I had been hoping to come across for years. A pristine copy on the Imperial label of Men In War composed by Elmer Bernstein and recently released on CD by Kritzerland ($1.50).

Currently you can not find a CD of this Score on ebay. The track "Chi Mai" is just wonderful. I have seen offers for this CD up to 150-180 dollars. Crazy. I got it from someone who is not into Soundtracks and I payed around $5. In perfect condition.

The film was very popular in Europe in 1981/82 and the instrumental only track "Chi Mai" even climbed into the regular Charts. Nr. 2 in Switzerland, Nr. 4 in Austria and probably very high in Germany and France as well. It even reached Nr.11 in New Zealand.

Does anybody know the Score? the Track? It is probably not very well known in the US. Check it out though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DSzGQVTTRs

Found THE SPECIALIST & THE BARBARIANS at an internet exchange site. you can trade cds, dvds, blurays, books etc against money or points. for example for a new bluray you get around 50-60 points, dvds usually range somewhere between 10-30 points, music as well.

I got THE SPECIALIST for 15 points and THE BARBARIANS for 5 dollars.

I haven't heard much of THE BARBARIANS yet. It is from INTRADA and composed by Pino Donaggio.

THE SPECIALIST is composed by John Barry and I love it. Crap film but great music. Sounds very "Bondian" at times. Just my cup of tea!

The 15 points are about worth 7-8 dollars (for comparison).

Got this one today and I think with 30 dollars it was reasonably priced.

Original Composers Promo OST of BLUE THUNDER. I had it on Vinyl and loved it (still do) back in the eighties. Here are a few mouthwatering images.

Found five Bruton and Carlin production music discs for $1.00 each. One in particular made the price of the other four worthwhile. The best of the bunch is titled Suspense/Tension with tracks composed by a variety of top drawer Brits including John Scott, John Cameron, Robert Farnon and a bunch of other guys I've become aware of through this recording. Two of the tracks House Of Horror and Footsteps Of Horror are good and menacing, sinister as hell. Even the composers name (W. Merrick Farran), pings of menace. Sounds like a suspect in the Jack The Ripper case.

Just becase I'm so board, have the day off with time to spare, here's the track titles and composers...

Nerve Centre (J Scott)
Pendulum (S Gray)
Unseen Danger (S Gray)
Darkside (S Bennett)
Lost World (K Mansfield)
Underlying Menace (K Mansfield)
Warning (P Martin)
In Suspension (J Cameron)
Hymn To The Sun (E Allen/F Riedy)

Lost City Of Atlantis (A Hawkshaw)
Bermuda Triangle (A Hawkshaw)
The Golden Web (A Hawkshaw)
The Wreck Of The Hesperus (A Hawkshaw)
Curse Of The Pharoahs (A Hawkshaw)
Valley Of The Gods (A Hawkshaw)
Occult (A Hawkshaw)
Astra Travel (A Hawkshaw)
Witchcraft (A Hawkshaw)
Watchful Eye (B Bennett)
Final Countdown (J Cameron)

Are all of the Super Tracks releases completely illegitimate, or are they actually legitimate promos? I bought a few of them years ago.

No, it is not a bootleg. I wasn't 100% sure when I bought it, but after I received and checked it I was convinced that it is not a bootleg but a composers promo which has been factory pressed. FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSE ONLY, NOT LICENSED FOR SALE. Manufactured FOR the composer!

The following gives me proof:

- I have a 8 page booklet (not 4!)
- Everything is factory printed
- the copyright details that are printed on are, well, very detailed and correct
- AND the CD code ABRCD01 is on the CD itself. I don't mean on the printed part, but on the inside ring of the CD where the factory codes are (I don't know the name of this).

So yes, the SC information is miscategorized AND the code on SC is wrong. It is ABRCD-01 and not ARCD-01 as it is written there.

AND the booklet "smells" old ;-)

I didn't mean bootleg in the sense that somebody burned a fake copy of a real CD their basement at home.

A CD can be printed up by an official printing press with professionally made artwork and the whole night yards, and still be an illegal release. For example, the people at Southern Cross did not correctly pay the licensing fees for Alex North's Dragonslayer, meaning that CD - professionally printed, sold by legitimate retailers - is a bootleg.

That being said, it's entirely possible that soundtrackcollector is wrong, and their issue of Blue Thunder is not a boot. Hey, they are wrong about Dragonslayer not being a boot so who knows

As I recall, MV said the old "Dragonslayer" was a boot. Obviously the LLLR one is not.

THE PLOT THICKENS!:

I have a copy of the BLUE THUNDER Promo.

I've always believed that this was a genuine release,
but my copy has some definte anomolies, against the copy pictured above:

My copy has some slightly different printing, typeface, and typeface size, than the one above,
and it doesn't have the silver printing - on mine it's either grey, or white.

Also, the disc physically stops playing, a couple of seconds too early, on the last track.

If I didn't know any better?, i'd suggest that my copy annoyingly is actually a boot version!.
