This is a great CD. The Stromberg CD is very good as well. Those 2 CDs are actually the only Victor Young CDs I have. |

I don't have the Stromberg cd yet, but I've so many others. The Quiet Man, Scaramouche, Three Coins in the Fountain, Around the World ... , The Tall Men, The left Hand of God. I think that's all by the moment. Young with Herrmann and Waxman are my favs composers. The reissue of this compilation is a very nice surprise for me.

No tjguitar, I find this version in SAE and they are explain this about it : "1996 digital recordings with Richard Kaufman conducting the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Reissue with new packaging. I'm considering re-buying this one just for the lovely cover!  (I take the contents/sound quality are the same as on the Koch release?)And TJ, get yourself Young's Around the World in 80 Days. It's a fantastic score! |

Also we can read in the cover it's a new digital recording, so I think the sound must be better than Koch version. ( 14 years better ).  I'm ready to order it tonight along with some Intrada release.

This reissue has me tempted along with the cd release of two of my favorite Mancini LPs from the late 1970s on one disc. |
