This is truly going to be a historic event. Lukas started this gathering of fans of film music 2 years ago. With all the time of putting out these great CD's we all love, he wasn't able to plan an event for us. So I stepped in and have picked up the torch, because I think it's very important for us to get together once in a while and talk shop. We had originally planned on going to the New Beverly Cinema, and the folks there were incredibly nice to allow us to come in for a while and chat to each other about our love of, what else, film music. Seating in the theater would have been a little tricky to actually sit all together and chat as, you guessed it, theater seating all face forward. I can't thank the folks at the cinema more for allowing us to come there. I've been to their cinema and it's WONDERFUL, our good friend on the board Morricone works there and he showed me around. It really is a great place and I advise anyone out in LA to stop by it! Dark Delicacies offered to have it at their NEW beautiful and BIGGER location. We can have more of a private inmate gathering similar to last years, if we had it at Dark Delicacies. I thought it would be a better place for what we wanted to do. This will be a quaint private event for only us film score fans to come and hang out. And since we ARE film music fans, what's better than getting a few composers to join us!!! Joining us for this historic FAN event will be.....drum role...... Tyler Bates John Debney Tom Hadju Daniel Licht John Ottman Stu Phillips Michael Wandmacher and our wonderful friends from La-La Land Records MV Gerhard and Matt Verboys. Daniel Schweiger from On the Score will be moderating a fan-oriented discussion about film music, and a Q and A afterwards WHEN: August 28th 2010 Saturday 11AM-2PM WHERE: Dark Delicacies 3512 W. Magnolia Burbank, CA 91505 SCHEDULE: 11-Noon we all can arrive and chat Noon-1'ish, a chat and Q and A with our panel of film music professionals 1'ish to 2PM hang out talk a bit more. LUNCH: Sue and Del have informed me there are MANY places nearby, so after the event, if groups want to go and get something to eat around Dark Del. then that will be great. I'm making no reservations for lunch anywhere. There are lots of places near by Dark Del. PARKING: Sue and Del have informed me there is plenty of parking around their new store. RESTRICTIONS: This is a private, limited event. Due to DD's space limitations, we have 40 spots available. Legendary film/tv composer Stu Phillips has just confirmed on coming to my film music gathering!! That makes 6 incredibly gifted and kind hearted composers coming August 28th!! |

This really sounds like a great time, unfortunately Ohio is quite a distance from L.A. I hope you guys have a huge turnout and do it again like you plan to, who know, maybe I can attend another one in the future. Best of luck! |

Drum role please......... Our newest addition to our lineup is..... Mr. Michael Wandmacher, composer of the new Pirahna 3-D movie!! Michael has also composed music to My Bloody Valentine, Punisher: War Zone, as well as a handful of other projects which can all be found at his http://www.imdb.com profile!! We are EXCITED as heck to welcome Michael. Christophe Beck had something come up, we wish him the best and are excited for Michael!!! |

And so it goes in Hollywood, schedules change, scoring sessions change, etc. etc. Ah to live the life in LA!! Sad news, our friend, the great Christopher Young can not make it and he sends his regards to everyone... but on the positive side, we have secured a composer who, if you've ever seen the incredible show DEXTER, you know who I'm talking about, Mr. Daniel Licht. I can't wait to meet him. If you've seen DEXTER, you know his music elevates the show to a whole new league. Man, I'm so excited, sorry if I sound like a kid here, but I'm pretty stoked. |

WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Tom Hadju of the composer group tomandandy will be joining us at the event. This is a VERY last minute/surprise addition, he will also be having a few limited promos of his Resident Evil score to pass out. Man this event is gonna be cool!!! |
