Post subject: | Hunting a Wrongly-Remembered Cue |
After a watch-through of WarGames, I've noticed that a cue (or something) that I could have sworn was in there isn't, and my copy of the score doesn't have it, either. As best I can remember, it was a frantic horn bit that sounded like something John Scott did with strings for The Final Countdown in "Splash the Zeros" or "Splash Two". The only description I can give is that it sounded as if it was written to spiral upward during a frantic action sequence, as if it belonged in "Closing the Mountain" or any other sequence where General Beringer is ordering SAC's bombers flushed. Obviously I've gotten something way out of place, and the only other movies that I can think of from that general era that could have featured the image I had in my head (i.e. NORAD or some similar military command center) would have been The Day After or By Dawn's Early Light, neither of which were big on the scoring front. I would have thought Spies Like Us would qualify, but I don't recall it having the right sound for what I'm describing. I'd check those myself, but the discs are in storage along with dozens of other films, and so I'm somewhat stuck. Does anyone have any idea what I might be referring to? |
