Hi everyone, unfortunately I am a novice but I hope no one minds my post. I found this on Wikipedia inregards to MCA Records: "MCA Records was an American-based record company owned by MCA Inc., which later gave way to the larger MCA Music Entertainment Group (now Universal Music Group), of which MCA Records was still part. MCA Records was absorbed by Geffen Records in 2003. MCA's Nashville label, MCA Nashville Records, is a still active imprint of Universal Music Group Nashville." I have a wishlist of sountracks that I would love to see an expanded and/or complete score to some of the MCA soundtracks that were released: ALIEN 3, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, STAR TREK VI, EDWARD SCISSOR HANDS(maybe?), ANIMAL HOUSE, CAT PEOPLE, SERIAL MOM, BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, THE FLINTSTONES. I know there are a lot more that I have missed, and a few song complilations sdtks that never had a score release. Just curious to read what anyone else has to say. Thanks so much ![]() |

What about MACARTHUR? I know the CD came from Varese but it's a tad tough to get hold of these days for non-silly money. |

I'd like to put in a good word for Randy Edelman's DragonHeart. It's the only Edelman score I really like, but thanks to a few highlight cues I really love it. Very powerful in the film, but very disappointing on the existing album because it's missing several highlights and what's there is all out of order (and in one case, repeated!) Really needs an expanded chronological presentation. Yavar |

Two of my favorites are on MCA. JAWS 2 and DRACULA, both of which are crying out for expansion and, especially in the case of DRACULA, a remaster. |

I think Basil Poledouris's Free Willy scores were both MCA releases. The first score had less than half an hour of his music, but Free Willy 2 only had nine and a half minutes! Really calls out for a complete release... Yavar |

I agree with *Batteries Not Included by Horner. There's gotta be over 20 minutes of very fine additional music in that film not on the very rare original CD. Ditto on Dracula by Williams, although there is far less extra music than batteries, the re-master would be a godsend to my ears. |

Re: Dracula, I actually watched the film not long ago and found there was a decent amount of score that didn't make it to the re-arranged LP. Also, very strangely, the film dials out the climactic key change when Dracula is finally vanquished. It's one of JW's proudest moments of the era, but as we sadly know, the first to suffer in the editing process is the score. |
