I too was wondering if there was much unreleased First Blood. For that matter, Rambo: First Blood Part II for some reason only says "expanded" on the cover, not "complete" like Intrada's Rambo III. Is that because it's not quite complete or is it just what Silva puts on things they expand whether it's complete or not. Sorry but I haven't seen any of the films and I'm not in a hurry to.

The best reason to watch these movies is to hear how the music works in the context of the respective films. And, of course, it would probably answer your question. It seems to me that everything from FIRST BLOOD is on the current compact disc release. RAMBO II may be missing some short cues but it is mostly complete and RAMBO III just has to be complete because of its length. |

The FIRST BLOOD cd contains ALL the music that Goldsmith wrote for the film. On a side note, one time when I was at INTRADA Doug played a tape for me of a lecture that Goldsmith was giving at a university (USC?) where he was discussing his score for STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE (He played for them a totally different theme for the Enterprise - one that hasn't been released yet) and the students asked him what he was currently working on, he commented that he was doing this little Sylvester Stallone film that was probably going to go nowhere. How little he knew at the time. ~ Oz |
