The barcodes bother me. That's one of the things I like about the Intrada limited edition discs... no barcodes. Hole punches don't bother me so long as it's only over the barcode and nowhere else.
I remember when barcodes began popping up everywhere and on everything and then on the back of LP jackets. The damn things spread like a plague. The big labels had them first and finally Varese Sarabande caved in and began pasting a tiny barcode sticker on the back of LPs that could carefully be peeled off and discarded. Then they began imprinting them directly on the back of the LP jacket. Never did like it and still don't. Happy that Intrada doesn't use them on their limited edition discs.
I wonder how long it will be before the US government starts using barcodes on new born babies?
