I have a question for Doug; Why was the :27 cue "Big Is Better" put on the end of "Force Shoots Robo" and the unused elevator music given the name of that cue track?
Before you answer, I'll assume 2 things:
1. It was included on the same track as "Force Shoots Robo" instead of as a stand alone cue so the music would cut immediately into the commercial break like in the film. Okay, that's fine. No problem.
2. The unused elevator music has been given the former cue's title because it was taken from the reel that was labeled "8M3 Big Is Better"
The reason I'm asking is because it's kind of confusing. I was expecting "Big Is Better" to describe the same as the 2004 Varese release but was surprised when it was included in the track before it. As for the elevator music cue, why not just call it that, "Elevator Music" or "Welcome to the Club" or something like that? (Are you sure about the reel label?) This cue is two and a half minutes long and I can't imagine that the full track would have appeared as such had it been used in the film, we'd likely have heard only seconds. I'm sure it was overscored so they would have plenty of ambient cue music to cut to as needed.
I just find the track names a little confusing in places but it's not the first time as there were so many cue titles that got switched around between the first Varese release and the 2004 re-release and Intrada's. The most confusing of which was the erroneous labeling of "Drive to Jones' Office" on the first Varese album which is the same as "Care Package" and the "Directive IV" cue from the Varese release which which is the same as "Gas Station Blow-Up," etc.
Anyway, I'm not trying to nitpick, just curious, that's all. I can't tell you how happy I am with this album. You guys at Intrada are doing an outstanding job bringing all of my grail soundtracks to fruition ("Manhunter" "Back to the Future" "Alien" "Capricorn One" "Metalstorm") that I never thought would see the light of day. Keep 'em coming!
