I can feel that Christophe Beck is finally becoming an important film composer in 2010. His rising certainly began with I Love You Beth Cooper (2009) which had a tremendous duel sequence a la Korngold, and thanks to his collaboration with Chris Colombus (who has worked with some of the greatest film composers : John Williams, James Horner, George Delerue, Michael Kamen, Maurice Jarre, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer as a director and Jerry Goldsmith, Dave Grusin, Bruce Broughton, Thomas Newman as a writer).



With Percy Jackson & The Olympians The Lightening Thief, Christophe Beck has shown a great talent for writing a huge fantasy orchestral score very reminiscent of the old style (certainly to the demand of Colombus). I couldn't recommend more the official CD from Fox who contains 60 minutes of this gorgeous epic score full of epic battles, shivering choirs and strong main themes. The classic adventure scores lovers shouldn't miss that !
