I know from reading responses from Lukas over at FSM that they get reuse fees lowered and inreturn have to make a limited amout of the score and then can't release it again, but then "Cherry 2000" came out again -- from another label -- and it made me wonder: why can't some other label do stuff like this? Second runs of "The Omega Man and Predator", for example, are sure sellers. I've never been able to get the full story on how this works and why someone else can't release something in limited run that another label had done and sold out of. Can someone here at Intrada give the tid bits on this? Thank you. |

So, in theory, if 500 people contact, say, Varese and told them they wanted "The Kindred" or one of those Delerue scores that sold out before most of American was awake, they might make more? Since "Predator" went bye-bye, over 200 copies have sold on eBay, for very high prices. I can't see why some label wouldn't want to get the liscanse and make 500 or so of it and clean up real quickley, and there will always be new fans of the score so if it does't sell out right away, it will in time. |
