Coincidentally, the current issue of FILM SCORE MONTHLY ONLINE has a piece which deals extensively with his COLUMBO music. filmscoremonthly.com click FSM ONLINE |

Doug, any hope of Intrada releasing Red Sky at Morning on CD, since it's a favorite of yours? I was reminded of this score, because I recently did an interview with Leonard Slatkin for The Goldsmith Odyssey (dropping in just under a week), and I asked him about his experience conducting this score for his friend Billy (just the soundtrack album so that the composer could tackle the piano parts himself, apparently -- but the film recording was conducted by Goldenberg himself I think). This would make a superb release, especially if the film recording could be located and paired with the album recording, and you guys included some liner note comments from Slatkin about recording the latter. But even if the album recording is all that survives it deserves to finally make the transition to digital I think. Yavar |
