[quote="Roger Feigelson" This is all great stuff. Too bad Paramount won't deal![/quote] "Every noble work is at first impossible." (Thomas Carlyle). Ten years ago collectors could not have imagined the bounty of current releases they have to chose from, so I shall remain optimistic that one day you, or someone with similar passion, will have access to the Paramount archives. I seem to recall that many members of the immediate collector and film score preservation community, in Los Angeles, volunteered their labour and were instrumental in the cataloguing of the Paramount film score archives, or am I mistaken? If true, then this positioning must have had the residual impact of building linkages that may one day result in access to their scores, with the proper realignment of Paramount personnel. Perhaps there is a visionary Nick Redman alter lurking in the Paramount hierarchy. ![]() b. |

Which also explains to me why a classic film such as Sunset Boulevard, with an Oscar winning score has no soundtrack release. Yes there is the Varese/McNeely and the Gerhardt version and a bootleg. Makes sense to me now. Tom ![]() |
