Yeah I´m for sure dissapointed in that no DeVorzon music is released as this IS the music I mostly think of when V comes to mind. Don´t care if it is fully licensed either as I´m there for the music and take it the best way that it is served... Anyway, I hope someone at Intrada is interested in electronic scores as there are a few gems that should be released ![]() |

Just some follow up observations (oh and Joe, *I* care that they are legitimate...since we follow the rules strictly, everyone else should as well!). It's interesting to note that McCarthy's main title to V: THE FINAL BATTLE, although unused, is very similar to the DeVorzan/Conlan main title...as if the the filmmakers didn't want it too obvious that they decided to go in a completely different musical direction for the remaining parts. Also, don't dismiss V: THE SERIES as more of the same, as it's stylistically similar, but has much great new music. On track 8, about 1:20 seconds in there's a direct reference to Harnell's action material from V. I suppose it could be a coincidence, but that would be one hell of a coincidence! Also, McCarthy later swiped track 18 and used it almost in its entirety for the premier STAR TREK TNG episode, ENCOUNTER AT FARPOINT. It's all great stuff. Any fan of sci-fi should check out at least the first miniseries (FINAL BATTLE didn't have nearly the well thought out themes of the first miniseries and the Series was a waste), and any fan of sci-fi scores will not want to miss this music! |

I love Harnell's music for V, but must confess that V-The Final Battle left me a little cold. It's not bad by any stretch, but just seems to be lacking the character of the first score. Perhaps I'll go ahead and buy the Tv Series music since you seem so found of it. I wasn't going to, but why not. If just to complete the collection. ![]() |
