Post subject: | Score Identification Help! |
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with something I've wanted to know for about 20+ years now! I'm doing a bit of screenwriting, and there's a bit of music I'd like to hear properly for inspiration, but I have no idea what it is, and I've only ever heard it in one place, which is on a trailer for "The Boy Who Could Fly" on my SpaceCamp VHS (purchased in Nov 1989 and still going strong!). Fortunately, to save me having to do it, the trailer can be found in here, on a set from a Flight of the Navigator VHS: It's the music that starts at 0:56 into this and builds until the end of the trailer. I've heard Bruce Broughton's wonderful score, but unless I've missed something, it's not from that. Any hints anyone could give would earn my undying gratitude! |

If I remember correctly, which is debatable, it's Giorgio Moroder's MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. |

YES! Thank you so much, Roger (not just for this, for all the wonderful CDs you've helped bring me as well, in case you never saw my initial post on the forums) I've just looked it up on Spotify and it's Love's Theme from Midnight Express. Finally! And it's really great, because I never ever would have heard it otherwise - one of the people I really don't get on with in film is Alan Parker (with the exception of The Commitments and a few scenes in Fame) so Midnight Express isn't a movie I'd ever have watched. As promised, my undying gratitude is yours - though I'm sure I'll be buying lots from Intrada this year by way of monetary compensation as well! |
