Just finished playing it again and still can't believe this came out of the blue from Varese. Amazing score, great sound, great notes, which brings me to something I wanted to discuss - I'm a bit shocked that Goldsmith knew this was in the works according to Townson, which means that this has been percolating for over 5 years. It was a little enlightening to read that, since as collectors, a CD is dumped on our doorstep and we're often quick to complain - maybe if labels hinted at the hard work and trouble they have to go through to put these things on disc, there wouldn't be so much ingratitude? Total knockout this one, I'm sure it won't be around too long..... |
