Ditto! 
A truly excellent batch, one of their very best in ages. There's something for everyone in there with heavyweights composers. And LONELY ARE THE BRAVE alone is really a dream come true. An excellent score by Goldsmith already at the top of his game, scoring one of the finest westerns ever. But isn't this their first batch not to include something drawn from their LP back catalogue? |

"The Right Stuff" I couldn't hear the big deal about (maybe hearing some complete cues would change that. Pass. "Hard Contract" left me compeltely cold. Pass. Though I did get their "Pony Soldier"; North just didn't grab me this time. "Lonely Are the Brave" I'm still on the fence about. It sounds like it'll be a hell of a score, but at the same time I hear parts of scoring style that Goldsmith used pre that film, that were more often a miss with me. I'm sure by the time I want it, it'll be gone. The reall winner for me here was the Shire title. Apart from the useless song, and that annoying secodn track, the next two cue samples were beauties. |

If you're a Goldsmith fan then you are in heaven at the moment. Lonely Are The Brave is a very welcome release. Well done Varese for bringing us such a milestone in Goldsmith's career. Now my only query is what is the source. Is it too much to dream that it's stereo? |

Another outstanding batch from Varese. 2009 has been a terrific year from all of the labels and we're only halfway thru it. |
