They will simplify any review and people would just ask why you gave this and that so many stars, when it clearly deserves... and the discussion starts of the wrong foot already. My response from my readers when I wrote the filmreviews was that some people unfortunately did not read the whole review but ONLY the grades and went out to see the movie just because of the grades and that is actually true. Those two viewpoints illustrate my dilemma to a T. I think grades simplify a review AND I find I don't read the whole review if they are there. On the other hand, I really LIKE ratings/grades because I'm lazy and don't necessarily have the time to read an entire review. I don't think there's a right answer. Each person has their preference. At the moment, I don't put ratings for the reviews on my site. I'm debating whether I should or not. Hence this discussion. |
