I need to revise my top 5, because I've just watched Jack Brooks Monster Slayer (a great canadian horror movie of the past year) and its score is just awesome. Ryan Shore has composed one of the most excellent horror score I've heard since decades ! Big orchestral artillery, no synths, old fashioned orchestrations (it's reminded me a bit of Horner's Aliens sometimes). One of the greatest scores of 2008, no doubt about it !

You know there are also some scores written for non-US movies, do you?
