...I'm wondering if we can say immediately which score is going to win.

Pretty much everyone has their money on Gustavo Santaolalla and his guitar-heavy-and-not-much-else Brokeback Mountain, and according to the rule that the score that I don't want to see winning usually does, my money is on it as well.

Personal favorite? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Personal pick who deserves the Oscar this year: John Williams for any score, really.

Any thoughts?

I strongly wish James Horner wins a second oscar for THE NEW WORLD. This is the most eligible/deserving score of the year, in my opinion.

It's always the same. They nominate Williams for 2 scores so that Williams supporters will be split in two. Now we can be sure Williams won't win this year.

Memoirs is so much stronger than Munich that I do not think that it will suffer the split syndrome. And keep in mind that the music was a huge part of the Memoir film while Munich could have lived without any music!
