My favorite soundtracks of this year so far : The Mummy 3 (Randy Edelman) : underestimated rousing score. Randy Edelman has made it with his own voice and different from the 2 previous ones. The chinese theme is absolutely breathtaking, the love theme (reprised in a jazzy song at the end of the album) convokes some gorgeous harmonies and the main theme is a rousing and very catchy typical Edelman tune. Rambo (Brian Tyler) : Brian Tyler has reprised and expanded one of the greatest Jery Goldsmith work, in a perfect blend of hommage and innovation. The Chronicles of Narnia 2 (Harry Gregson Williams) Speed Racer (Michael Giacchino) Indiana Jones 4 (John Williams) Wall-E (Thomas Newman) Journey to the Center of the Earth (Andrew Lockington) : for the reasons I already explained in another topic ![]() This is not golden age, but really great music anyway ! |

And as you go back to the 40's and 30's the scores become even more classical which I think is where our taste in music can differ. Thomas |
