Thank you Roger !
Did you compare it with the first repressing with this artwork ?
Because I bought the CD back in 1996, and it originally had this splendid artwork :
The medieval illustration styled imagery is the same, but the whole artwork is embelished with gold and purple. I remember finding the CD in my store when I was 15 yo and the CD seemed like a treasure in my hands...
Of course the treasure revealed itself to be musical as well. George Bruns has done a fantastic adaptation job on this soundtrack and did much more than just adapting. Can I say recreating ? He certainly is the one who made me discover Tchaikovsky and made me love his music.
About the 1996 remastering, the sound is so incredible that I can't imagine this score's been recorded in 1958 ! The music is as clear and detailed as if it was recorded only few years before the digital era. I guess the original elements might have been found in a splendid shape to be sounding so great, or is it just that Disney preserved the elements from rotting and digitized those elements soon enough... ?
Again, I'm wondering what kind of source this was from to be so neat, since the very original elements are claimed to have been found only recently for the new video release and remastering.
