I also think that it was in the very beginning of the nineties since I started to collect soundtracks just prior to the switch from LP`s to CD`s. I remember that my very first Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack was the LP release of Gremlins 2 (1990) and my very first Jerry Goldsmith CD was Basic Instinct (1992) so yep it had to be sometime around that period |

I'm curious, how did look the record label on Intrada vinyls ?[/quote] I've still got my vinyl release of "Islands in the Stream", the label just had the Intrada logo and disc contents. Bought that little gem from Craig Spaulding personally when he had a shop in Dallas, probably back in 1987. |

The marketplace itself dictated events. We were making LPs on everything we did up through Jerry Goldsmith's WARLOCK in 1988. By this point, however, distributors we dealt with were ordering zip on vinyl. Our own customers were already switching to CDs pretty quickly. This just left us holding the LP bag, so to speak. So we dropped it and went the CD route with everyone else. --Doug |
