Oh.
I thought this was about Billy Goldenberg's nice score for the (good) "What If" episode of Amazing Stories (Volume 2, CD 1).


Something like Varèse's Celebration sets would indeed be a good idea, indeed, but it would probably be difficult to get new rights for all the limited releases.

It's a nice idea but there are some inherent problems. While we could probably toss something together from our older catalog of back titles spread out over the last 20 years or so (similar to the Varese compilations) we couldn't include most of the limited release titles because those licensing agreements are typically restrictive to certain quantities and periods of time when the titles can be sold. And many other licenses simply restrict coupling things together.

Since we've released so much of his music, I've often thought about a ball-bustin' Jerry Goldsmith all-action-cue album featuring stuff we first premiered. But without "Break Out" or "Raisuli's Attack" or "The Boot" or "The Hunt" or "Whose Cattle" or "El Jefe" or the main title to NIGHT CROSSING and so on, our CD would be chock full of holes. Sure, we could toss on numerous takes of "Wall of Fire" since we totally own RIO CONCHOS but that would grow old pretty fast.

But your idea is pretty cool. I wish it could be done.

How does the rights your obtained for limited work? Do you still retain the rights? Can a label buy the rights for a title from you and can they use your mastering?
