I need to play it again to answer better, but there's one thing I can say: I don't remember in which track it is, but there's a trumpet motif he later used for the sinking of the Titanic. I have not seen Courage Under Fire, so I can't comment on this cue's effect in it, but the way Horner developed it for Titanic is extremely effective both in the movie and on its own: the sense of urgency, of doom, of tension, is a lot greater. (speaking of Titanic, it so happens ) |

Well, the El Bathra cue is one of the most exiting compositions of Horner's carreer. And that's a lot to say about the composer of Aliens, Krull and Star Trek II. And Brainstorm. And Willow. The rest of the album is good enough, but 'regular Horner' IMHO, wich means it is a damn enjoyable listen. |

Thanks for the topic, it reminded me I had to buy the CD. Found it at $10 and the overture is definitely great. |
